I tried Amsoil when I noticed high consumption rates in my wifes car. With Amsoil there was less oil consumption and the oil doesn't break down as noticably. I just ordered Amsoil XL5W30 for my truck and spare car. I even have it i my lawn mowers.
Excellent oil that meets or exceeds OEM specs. Keeps engine well protected under daily use and the occasional track days, when engine is use and abuse. On engines that I have inspected internally looked in good shape and tear and wear are minimal
I use this in my 1996 G.M.C. K 1500, and my 2004 Toyota Highlander Limited all wheel drive. NEVER had a product problem. I generally change the Oil Filter (with an Amsoil filter) at 5k, top off, do a complete oil change at 10k, I use nothing but Amsoil products in my vehicles. Between the two, there are over 300k on the vehicles! I also use this oil in my lawnmower.. I know I'm not supposed to, but,, it works! I just change it every new mowing season.
Amsoil 10w-40 in my F150 with 200K miles in her and still runs like new
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I have used Amsoil products for years, and will never change!!! I only use Amsoil in my GMC P/U my Chevy HHR and my Harley I also use only Amsoil air and oil filter..
With the outrageous prices for new cars these days, I don't plan on purchasing a new vehicle any time in the near future. Instead, I plan on keeping my current vehicles (5) running for a very very long time and trust no other motor oil to help me do that other than Amsoil's XL synthetic oils.
Last truck was a 2004 F250 crew cab with the 5.4 liter v8. Started using it after 10k miles and all the way till 204000 miles (hard miles) when I sold it. It never leaked or used any oil. I changed it every 6k and the truck ran as strong when I sold it as the day I bought it.
Proof is in the pudding ,,, or this case the oil !
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I personally put amsoil in my three cats . This oil made a believer out of me when I tried it in my old Dodge caravan and the motor sound like new . That old click I used to hear on the motor when idling was gone .
My race car was setup with total Amsoil lubricantion. From front to back. Bearing grease ,transmission, differential, engine oil.......... All my street vehicles also ran on Amsoil. Never had a failure. Great products . I also has some racing oil left over that I run my mower on .

I recently switched to this oil in my 4.6L f150. This truck has 106,100 miles on it. It's had motorcraft synthetic blend changed every 3k-5k miles with a fl-820 filter since new. Immediately after switching to this oil the engine developed some cold start and low RPM knocking. I believe this is due to the timing chain tensioners and or guides? The tensioners rely on oil pressure to keep the chains tensioned. So either the motorcraft was hiding a mechanical issue or this 5w20 isn't of similar viscosity to the motorcraft? Oil sample will be sent to blackstone at 3k miles. Still using the motorcraft fl-820 filter with this product. I cannot recommend this product until I have more info.

Used this product for my 2008 350z Roadster, this is the second go runaround with this product. I have noticed my engine runs smother and idles better (66,100 plus miles). I used other brands of synthetic oils on my prior vehicles (Mobil1, Royal Purple, Castrol) but by far I am the most satisfied with Amsoil. I want to use the best product available and so far this is the best to me until otherwise. I have not performed any lab test or chemical analysis but real life driving. Also I need to mention better gas mileage, how I know I am getting better gas mileage? I know because I do not fill my tank as often (i use Premium that is what Nissan requires for maximum performance) I wish Amsoil had a high-performance filter like K&N or aFE, I would buy it too
