after getting a new mower I decided to do things a bit different. I used a break-in oil for the first 10 hours and then switch to the Z-Rod oil. mower engines use a flat tappet cam, so this is going to help it live. I've read several stories that some engines have issue with the cams failing, heard that before. So, this is my attempt to get this thing to live a long life, because nothing is getting cheaper, just made cheaper.

I switched from Dominator to Z-Rod to get the added moisture protection since moving to SC. SC is humid and the car sits for long periods. Z-Rod provides all the protection of Dominater for my 800+ RWHP engine both running and sitting.

This is a high quality oil with the perfect amount of zinc for my classic car with flat tappet cam lifters. The oil also seems to stay cleaner longer when used with a AMSOIL filler

Have been using this since I rebuilt my flat tappet cam engine. Its been great and oil comes out clean at each change even in a boosted engine. Worth every penny.

I use Z-Rod in my pre 80’s vehicles.

Use it on my 2004 Jeep TJ Rubicon 4.0 LTR engine. Keeps the engine noise quiet.

My 1966 Corvair turbo has 80k + original miles. I chose this oil because of the zinc content & oil weight. I wa hoping it might help with oil consumption, but not so far. I wish it cost a bit less. I'll keep with it as I limit the amount of use the Corvair gets. I try to drive about every 2 weeks or so.

Started using AMSOIL in 1982 in a 455 GTO. Then in a Ferrari now a 72 Corvette. Motor looks clean inside oil pressure is good. In these vehicles would you use something you didn't think was very protective ,me either.

I use the oil for my 65 mustang, that has a 91 5.0 HO EFI engine. Works great, oil pressure is perfect

Ran this in my numbers matching '69 Olds 442 since taking delivery of the freshly rebuilt 400. Constant issues with that engine leading to finally pulling it back out and realizing how poor it was done the first time. The silver lining..the compliment of how well the cam/lifters looked based on the troubles. No doubt, what helped it last as long as it did was the oil. Now, its due back with a much higher quality build, from machining, cam choice, tune, etc..but no doubt this oil will be the top choice.

This has been my "go to" for my 1950 tractor with flat tappet lifters. I'm sure any old oil will work, but this makes me sleep better at night. I've used this oil since I've rebuilt the engine and have never had any bad indications in the filter, so I'm sticking with what I know.
